Hydrolyzed sponge(spicule) powder is extracted from freshwater sponge named spongilla lacustris, it’s bio-microneedling with length 200-300u to stimulate the dermis ,help to activate the skin micro-circulation,and to reduce skin pores blocking, and also help to speed up the metabolism of skin generate,accelerated aging cuticle natural flake.
There is mainly two kind of white sponge spicule in global market.
1、Russia originspicule (from spongilla lacustris grows in Lake Baikal)
2、China origin spicule (from spongilla lacustrisgrows in Yangtz River)
They have totally same appearance – white fine powder,spicule content 99%.
The differences can be seen under microscope.
Russia origin spicule is longer and sharper point, which makes stronger stinging sensation.
Blow picture shows that Russia origin spicule can reach dermis layer,which is greater for treating serious skin problems like acne,pigmentation,and anti-aging,usually it is applied to weekly use cosmetics that used in beauty parlor,recommended usage amount is 5%-10%.If add to daily use skin care products, 0.2%-0.3% is suggested.
China origin spicule has more gentle stinging sensation which is better to be applied to daily use skin care product with recommended usage amount is 0.5%-1%. Also it could be used in weekly cosmetics that is treating skin problems for those who has thin cuticle skin,recommended usage amount is 10%-15%.
Besides the white hydrolyzed sponge , we also can find that with gray color.
The spicule content of gray hydrolyzed sponge is 70%,by microscope we can see impurities and broken spicule inclusively. It can not be added to cream,serum because of the color and impurities. Usually it mixed with solution liquid which is used to peeling treatment.
Finally, it is the difference of purification method.
There is two kinds of method at present, option A is recommended.
- Low temperature and high pressure enzymatic decomposition method,strong acid & alkali free.
- Acid & alkali extraction method ,the residual of harmful solvents is hard to be cleaned up completely.
Below pictures shows the structure of one single spicule is hollow and lacunaris , the harmful solvents is hard to be removed completely from it. The harmful solvents such as strong acid and alkali would be absorbed by skin as the spicule implanted,which is probably cause dermatitis, sensitive skin , pigmentation and dry skin.
